My Cinematic Muses is a random column where I publicly and shamelessly express my obsessive love for celluloid femmes. No, really.
Episode one is dedicated to Jaime Murray.
Jaime Murray
Where have we seen her? First of all, If you've seen her once, you won't forget her. She played Lila, Dexter’s psycho pyromaniac girlfriend in Season 2. She is intriguingly evil in The Deaths of Ian Stone, playing the role of Medea (great premise, lousy movie, but we don't mind, do we?). The scene where she is stabbing her boyfriend with her claw is an instant classic and brings backs so many memories. Her most memorable performance is Anna in Botched (see below).
Why bother? Well, she is the embodiment of sheer sexuality. The quintessential femme fatale. Coolest accent ever.

The Muse scene: Ok, I have posted a selection of frames from a campy horror film titled Botched. Here's the synopsis:
"Forced to make amends to his bosses for his part in a failed heist,
Ritchie (Stephen Dorff) is sent to Russia to steal a priceless antique
from a Moscow penthouse, where he finds himself trapped on the 13th
floor with a deranged psycho and a pair of murderous twins. Winner of
the New York City Horror Film Festival, this crowd-pleasing spatter
fest from director Kit Ryan also stars Jaime Murray, Zak Maguire and
Alan Smyth."
Murray plays Anna, a sensual and implausible employer of a shady Russian firm. She gets kidnapped by a) a criminal gang attempting to steal an ancient gold cross and b) a couple of crazy twins. Her fake Russian accent is so bad it's actually irresistible. The hot scene featured in this post happens around 50 minutes into the movie. Anne (Murray) is attacked by a psychopath on the 13th floor of a towering building in Moscow. The creepy warrior who is stalking her turns out to be the descendant of Ivan the Terrible who's into human sacrifices. Ritchie (the always amusing Dorff) saves the girl from a sure death, but Anna gets her right lobe pierced by a dagger. In this hilariously sick scene, Ritchie removes the knife while seducing Anna with soothing words ("Think about your last vacation... Where did you go?" "Oh, I went to Sochi..."). As Queen put it, pain is so close to pleasure. Notice the tear rolling down her cheek, so touching. Also notice that Anna wears a pencil skirt and high heels during the frequent chase scenes. Not exactly practical. yet she manages to survive. Above all... Look at those lips!
Verdict: Instant classic.
